NCPS to Host its Annual Celebration of the Arts

Nashville, N.C. - Nash County Public Schools (NCPS) will host its annual Celebration of the Arts on Tuesday, March 26, from 5:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. at Rocky Mount High School. The event, held each spring, showcases students' talents and spotlights the district's commitment to the arts, coinciding with Art Education Month. The exhibition will begin with a performance by the Elite Dancers from Nash Central High School, followed by a musical presentation by the Rocky Mount High School orchestra, which will take place during the exhibition. Superintendent Dr. Steven Ellis will participate in the event by taking photographs with each of the featured artists. Following the school event, the art gallery will be transferred to Braswell Memorial Library in Rocky Mount for public display throughout April. After that, it will go home to the Superintendent's art gallery at the central office in Nashville, where it will remain on view for one year.

"The afternoon offers a unique opportunity for students, parents, and community members to engage with the vibrant arts culture fostered by NCPS," said Wendy Hinson, AIG/fine arts coordinator at Nash County Public Schools. "It serves as a platform for young artists to showcase their work and emphasizes the importance of arts education in promoting creativity and expression among students."

The Celebration of the Arts exemplifies the thriving artistic community within Nash County Public Schools and invites the community to support and engage with the arts. Through events like these, the district continues highlighting the pivotal role of arts education in enriching students' lives and enhancing their educational experience.
